The Endless Summer most read articles of 2014, #1 and #1 – End of the old year countdown

The Endless Summer most read articles of 2014, #1 and #1 – End of the old year countdown

Tadaaaa! Here we are at place number 2 and 1 of the most read articles of 2014 on Endless Summer.

#2 with a surprising count of 13.513 clicks is a moment from only a few days after I arrived in Brazil. It was a moment of alienation and delightful surprise when I was sitting in a bar and someone told me: “I ‘m a marxist“. And this as the second most read article is a delightful surprise for me again. And have a look at

#1 and with 17.133 hits by far the most read article on Endless Summer: Brazilian museums – even they are a little bit different. The readers of Endless Summer must be a very sophisticated crowd indeed.

That was the countdown.

A happy year 2015!

We are making a big jump! While the question of how to shop correctly on place #5 had 6094 hits, the article in fourth place has almost twice as many, 11.504 to be precise. I am very surprised and pretty curious about why this article is there, because it is one of the posts in the “Extraterrestrial Marriage” series.

#4 with 11.504 hits: Where, why, how and what papers? Denmark is the answer. Why and how my wife and me decided to get married in Denmark.

But let’s continue right away with:

#3 and 12.697 hits. Not a surprise, because sex always sells. My introduction to the architecture of passion, to the infrastructure of love. Lets talk about sex….Motels and the Logistics Of Sex In Brazil. It was also one if the most liked on Facebook.

I am surprised and a tiny bit confused that the article about sex didn’t come in first place. And you will be too, when you see, what were the two most read articles on Endless Summer in 2014. (A hint: it’s about culture and politics, the readers must be a very sophisticated crowd).

Only four my days for this year to pass and three more posts (including this one) to reach the top.

#6 of the most read articles on Endless Summer with 4910 clicks: How to take the right elevator. Seems easy? Well, it isn’t.

#5 of the most read articles: Another article (and the last in this list, I promise) about shopping in Brazil. This time it’s about this awkward moment when you want to pay and the cashier looks into your face and asks another question (and it took me a while to get used to that): Share it! Shopping Brazilian Style.

The countdown continues. Welcome to the second of a series of five posts about the most read articles on Endless Summer in 2014. Place number 8 and 7 are close again, even though the differences are getting bigger (and they both have only about a fourth of the click numbers of #1 – but you will have to wait 3 more days to find out).

Number 8 of the most read articles on An-Endless-Summer.com in 2014 with 4044 clicks is a short introduction into how to eat out and how to order food in a Brazilian restaurant: “Pratos. Porçoes”.

Ready for #7? It’s a report on how difficult it was to buy a printer in one of these over-sized supermarkets and how this experience changed the way I was thinking about efficiency: How Shopping For A Printer Can Challenge Your Beliefs.

An Endless Summer is all new

Maybe you have already realized that Christmas brought something new for Endless Summer – a new blog. It’s all new, more comfortable, a lot faster and all WordPress. Santa has been good to me. Almost everything made it to the new blog, all articles, the comments. Only the Facebook-Likes and Twitter-Shares didn’t make it, but I thought: screw the attention economy. I hope you like the new blog as much as I do….

Most read posts of 2014 – place 10 and 9

Many people seem to have problems shopping, just as me. In 10th place came the Incomplete Guide on how to shop in Brazil or: why even shopping in Brazil is not quite as easy as you think with 2653 clicks as of today.

The ES readers seem to share the Brazilian obsession with waterfalls, because only a few clicks more, 2656 to be exact, brought Waterfalls to the 9th place.
